Illovo Sugar (Malawi) Plc is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for multiple Locum positions within Estate Support Services at Nchalo. The positions report to the Chief Medical Officer. Available Positions & Requirements 1. Medical Clinician Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Clinical Medicine or Clinical Science. 2–3 years’ experience in a similar environment. Registered with the relevant professional body. Basic computer skills and a valid driver’s licence. BLS or ALS certification is an advantage. 2. Pharmacy Technologist Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Technology or related field. 3 years’ relevant work experience. Full registration and valid practising licence. Basic computer literacy and excellent interpersonal skills. Knowledge of pharmaceutical legislation and regulations. 3. Medical Services Administrator Bachelor’s Degree in Health Services Management, Public Health, Healthcare Administration or related field. Minimum 5 years’ increasing responsibility in a healthcare environment preferred. Strong analytical skills and working knowledge of computer systems. 4. Medical Assistant Diploma in Clinical Medicine or another recognised clinical qualification. Registration or eligibility for registration with the relevant professional body. Training in HIV/ART management required; TB management training is an advantage. 2–4 years’ clinical experience, preferably in ART, TB and HIV care. 5. Laboratory Officer Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Biomedical Laboratory Sciences or related field. Registration with the relevant professional regulatory body where required. 2–3 years’ experience in a busy hospital, clinical or research laboratory. Good verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills. 6. Nursing Midwife Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and Midwifery. Registration with NMC Malawi. Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience. Basic computer proficiency and strong clinical skills. Ability to work nights, weekends, extended hours and public holidays. 7. Occupational Health Practitioner Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health, Nursing, Environmental Health, Public Health, Safety or related field. Registration with the relevant professional council/regulatory body. 3–4 years’ experience in occupational/workplace health or medical surveillance. Knowledge of occupational health legislation and medical surveillance requirements. Basic computer skills and a valid driver’s licence. Key Responsibilities Responsibilities vary by position and include: Providing clinical, nursing, laboratory, pharmacy and occupational health services. Managing and documenting patient care and medical information. Supporting HIV, ART and TB programmes. Maintaining healthcare quality and safety standards. Managing medical supplies, equipment and laboratory resources. Supporting occupational health, workplace safety and employee wellness. Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, professional standards and Illovo policies. Contributing to effective healthcare administration and service delivery.
