Position: Storyteller
Location: Lilongwe

About The Role:
We are looking for a creative, passionate and talented Storyteller to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, developing and sharing compelling stories that communicate the impact of our organisation's work and the people and communities we serve.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and document inspiring stories from our projects and programmes
- Interview beneficiaries, staff, community leaders and other relevant people
- Write clear, engaging and accurate stories for newsletters, reports, websites and social media
- Capture stories through written content, photographs and video where required
- Travel to project locations and communities to gather stories and testimonies
- Capture human-interest stories that clearly demonstrate the impact of our work
- Work closely with programme and communications teams to collect accurate information
- Maintain proper records of interviews, photographs and other story materials
- Ensure stories are presented respectfully and protect the privacy and dignity of the people featured
- Assist with other communications and media activities as required
Requirements:
- Minimum of a Malawi Certificate in journalism or mass communication; additional training in journalism, communications, media or a related field will be an advantage
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Strong storytelling and interviewing skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to write creatively and professionally
- Basic photography and video skills will be an advantage
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Word and basic editing tools
- Willingness to travel to rural communities and project locations
- Must be creative, trustworthy, hardworking and able to work independently
- Previous experience in journalism, communications, media, storytelling or a similar role will be an advantage
- Previous office or administrative experience will be an advantage (three-year min)
- Should be able to drive and has a driving license (driving for more than three years)
