GRADUATE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME
The Malawi Epidemiology and Intervention Research Unit (MEIRU), in partnership with Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHeS), the Ministry of Health, and international partners, invites applications from suitably qualified graduates for its Graduate Internship Programme. The programme provides practical workplace experience, professional development, and an opportunity to contribute to health research and national development priorities.
POSITION: Graduate Intern
LOCATION: Karonga and Lilongwe
DURATION: 12 Months
PURPOSE OF THE INTERNSHIP
The programme provides graduates with hands-on experience in a multidisciplinary research environment. Interns will be assigned to relevant MEIRU departments based on organizational needs and available opportunities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Graduate Interns will support MEIRU activities, including:
• Supporting research, clinical, laboratory, data management, and operational activities.
• Assisting with data collection, processing, verification, documentation, and record management while ensuring confidentiality and adherence to approved procedures.
• Participating in training, meetings, field activities, and other assigned duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must:
• Hold a Bachelor's degree from a recognized public university in Malawi.
• Possess good communication, interpersonal, and computer skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Demonstrate willingness to learn, professionalism, integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of local languages commonly spoken within the study areas will be an added advantage.
