STEM Consult is hiring General Fitter Interns on behalf of a client for a position based in Lilongwe.

Key responsibilities:

• Assist senior fitters in assembling and adjusting machine parts.
• Measure and mark metal pieces for cutting and drilling.
• Clean, oil and maintain workshop tools and machinery.
• Help inspect mechanical joints and connections for proper fit.
• Assist with assembling and installing mechanical machinery.
• Fit, align and connect metal parts using hand and power tools.
• Read technical drawings to measure and prepare equipment components.
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace and keep tools organised.

Requirements:

• Studying towards or recently completed a Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or Fitting.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools and measuring equipment.
• Ability to read basic mechanical drawings and blueprints.
