Astria Learning is expanding online academic delivery across partner universities in Malawi. The organization seeks motivated early career academics to join as Part Time Online Teacher Assistants. This remote role supports online course delivery through grading, student engagement, and LMS management under faculty supervision. Half day commitment: 4 hours/day, Monday–Friday Compensation: MWK 11,500 per hour Key Requirements Category A (Desirable): • PhD degree or defended dissertation • University level teaching experience • Experience as Research Assistant or Assistant Lecturer Category B (Minimum Eligibility): • Master’s degree + 8+ years university level teaching experience • Substantial postgraduate teaching experience Preferred Disciplines: Management, Education, Development Studies, Agriculture, Crop & Soil Science, Human Ecology, Environment & Natural Resource Management, Economics, or closely related fields. Essential Requirements: • Demonstrated university level teaching/academic support experience • Strong English communication skills • Experience with online/blended learning (desirable) • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines • Reliable computer, internet, and professional workspace Duties and Responsibilities • Grade assignments and discussions using rubrics • Respond to student queries via LMS inbox within 24–48 hours • Facilitate doubt clearance sessions (30 minutes per course per term) • Assist in grading final papers and flag borderline cases • Maintain academic records and submission tracking in LMS • Uphold academic integrity and institutional standards How to Apply Submit: • CV • 1 page Cover Letter outlining teaching engagement and experience Send applications to: peter.bauleni@astrialearning.com
